Whew! My how time flies! It has been a Looong time since I posted anything here!! Yeah, well, when life pushes you around a bit it can take a while to find you way back to the path you wanted to be on... I'm not sure I am quite there yet, but I was able to push out this caricature of Billy Idol!
I will be submitting this for a contest in a facebook caricature group, but I mainly did it to be part of my "Monsters of Rock" series, and also because I like Billy Idol!
It was created in MyPaint using a Wacom Intuos 5 tablet and signed and branded in Photoshop.

Happy Halloween!
Well, this is my Happy Halloween painting... a day late!
=0P
Inspired by Disney's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow Halloween special. When I was a kid I looked forward to watching that cartoon every year. It was one of my favorites!
Anyway, I wanted to record the painting process but I had some problems during the process and didn't feel like starting over. I did manage to record the sketch. It is on YouTube ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjEbqJ-xE_g ). The sketch and painting were done in MyPaint using a Wacom Intuos 5.

1979 Toyota Hi(gh)Lux 4X4
This is a CARtoon of a 1979 Toyota HiLux 4X4 pickup. I used to do CARtoons a lot when I was younger and think I`ll do more in the future. I rather enjoy doing them a lot.
I used to own a 1979 Toyota, originally almost the same color, except it wasn`t four wheel drive.

Bad to the Bone
Here’s my latest “Bad” illustration! This is “Bad to the Bone” another addition to my “Bad” series of children (so far just girls) in cooperation with a monster like being. My working title, all of about 1 hour, was “Just Bad”. Well, obviously that didn’t stick. It was only my working title until I figured out what monster would be behind the little girl. This was drawn and painted in MyPaint and Photoshop using a Wacom Intuos 5 graphic tablet.

LOST Supper
This is my rendition of the LOST Supper. I had the idea to do such a
painting after having finished watching the series again and during my
researching and collecting references I discovered ABC Studios had
photographed their version of the LOST Supper. So, I wasn't sure about
actually doing it since it had kind of already been done. However, a few
friends helped convince me otherwise. I think the chosen characters and
their placement makes sense and works well. I tried to keep a lot of
the poses the same, or near the same, as in da Vinci's Last Supper.
Since da Vinci's is in rather bad shape I also referred to Giovanni
Rizzoli's copy of Leonardo's painting.

Bad Monster - Photoshop Creative magazine
Photoshop Creative magazine, issue 92, was published this month featuring my “Bad Monster” illustration in the Reader’s Gallery on page 8.
They contacted me on August 13th and asked if I would mind them publishing the “Bad Monster” painting. And of course I was like, “How much is it worth to you?”… and they didn’t reply any more…
=0P (just kidding)
No, seriously, I was excited! I prepared all the files, sent the copy release, and asked when it would be published and where I could purchase additional copies… and nothing. No Joke. I checked issue 90, waited for issue 91, and then I wrote… they replied and said it would be in the next month’s issue… and there it was. It was difficult to not share the news when I heard and actually wait for the magazine to come out… but I did it! Anyway, it’s cool!

Invasion
This piece, titled “Invasion” is a sort of study or practice piece. I realized I needed to work on my ambient lighting in paintings to help bring across an emotion that might not be obvious within the action or focus of the painting. Mainly for the painting I started planning a couple of weeks ago. I will possibly do a couple more studies of a different nature because somethings I will be attempting are not really me or part of my style at all.
“Invasion” was painted in MyPaint and Photoshop using a Wacom Intuos graphic tablet.

World of Art
This was originally just an illustrative piece done for myself. It
somewhat translates my feelings at the time, which were of peace,
tranquility, and most of all creativity. It was voted image of the week
for Photoshop Creative magazine and the cover image for ArtFlow
magazine.
I had first approached this piece as a pencil sketch and thought to create a base scene in 3D for shadow and reflection references that I just wouldn't have otherwise. During the 3D construction I decided to just create the whole scene in 3D, however, towards the end I realized everything was too stiff and I wanted a more relaxed cartoony style and so I started over using my 3D render as a reference as I had intended to do from the beginning. You can view the sketch and 3D render, along with some other details, on my site at RyanNore.com.

Here’s a couple time lapsed videos of the creation process of two of my
caricatures. The software being used
is MyPaint in connection with a Wacom Bamboo drawing tablet.
The first is my self-caricature...
... and the second is of Gilbert Daroy.

Cartoon Doodles
These are a few doodles created by me when activating my graphic
tablet’s pressure sensitivity. It doesn’t automatically activate when
drawing or painting in MyPaint so I open a blank canvas in Photoshop and
scribble a line. Sometimes the line looks like something and I doodle
out what I imagined.
